1991-92, Made In Japan, “L” serial
This is one of the highest end models produced by Fender Japan
Incredibly rare, and almost never seen
It is a ’62 Precision Bass, FujiGen production period
Built by the Fender Japan Custom Edition Team, rear headstock stamped
This was a team consisting of only highly skilled craftsmen, with active ties to Fender USA
They are (arguably) second only to the Fender USA Custom Shop
The Fender Japan Custom Edition range was a very short production period of 2-3 years
Some amazing guitars were produced in this time, then the line was discontinued
Making them incredible rare to find
As very small numbers were built over such a short time
Like Fender USA's Custom Shop only higher end selected materials were used
(Generally, Ashwood bodies, nitrocellulose finishes, higher end slab Rosewood cuts etc.)
Many models built were also special orders from customers and stores in Japan
Most commonly you will see Stratocasters and Telecasters in the Custom Edition range
You almost never see the Precision or Jazz Bass models
Especially in an amazing custom colour finish, such as this
This bass does indeed have a custom “ORDER” finish
(with factory neck pocket matching stamping)
It is a light Ashwood body
Finished in an incredible “Blue Sparkle” nitrocellulose finish
With the higher end feature of having a matching headstock
It is then offset with a red tortoise shell pickguard, and it looks amazing!

--- All items are packed to the highest degree for transit. A great amount of pride and detail goes into making sure every item arrives without issue. Pedals and small items are packed in multiple layering of bubble wrap and double corrugated shipping cardboard. Guitars, pending the instrument, have strings de tuned so there is no tension on the neck and headstock. Neck/body /headstock are wrapped separately in multiple bubble wrap layers, high density foam and/or cardboard reinforced. If applicable it is then placed in gig/soft case or hard case. If in gig/soft case it is once again bubble wrapped/foam reinforced before being boxed. Each package/box is custom cut and fit in heavy duty double corrugated shipping cardboard. All voids are padded out and the body edge, base, and top of head stock foam reinforced/padded. Finally, the boxing will have copious amounts of high visibility “Fragile” and “This way up” warning labels. We are also proudly environmentally friendly, recycling as much bubble wrap, foam, and cardboard packaging material as possible with every delivery in and order out.
