Product Description
1989, Made In Japan, “E9” serial
PJR-65R model, Jazz Bass, Special
Very Hard to find early FujiGen production Jazz Bass
The catalogue colour of this model is “CWH”
Which original is a subtle pearlescent/metallic white style finish
Insanely, the finish on these model basses age/fade/yellow over the decades
So much so it ends up as a golden shade that shimmer under lights
(this is the 3rd or 4th one we have had in the last 10 years, all with the same colour fade)
It looks amazing up close, and very unique to find
The Jazz Bass Special was made famous by Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses
His model (which became a signature reissue) was the model below this one
This PJR-65R model has active pre amp electronics and packs a massive punch
Controls are – Volume – Pickup Blend – Treble – Bass
Massive tone, awesome combination with the combined P/J pickups
Fender “Dragster” P pickup
Fender “Hotrod” J pickup
Another major plus for this model is that it is a medium scale, 32”
It makes for incredibly quick playability, without feeling small or toy like
(like some 30” short scale basses)
It is also super light, weighing in at only 3.3kg
Perfect for comfort and long playing sessions
This model was also well regarded for its extremely fast neck
Super thin 37mm nut, 21 frets
Cut away neck pocket for ease of reach of higher frets
Contemporary fast and flat 10” radius fretboard
Maple one piece neck
Slab Rosewood fretboard, with a nice dark grain
Gold hardware
Includes the Original Fender Gig Case
