Product Description
1995-96, Crafted In Japan, “N” serial
’69, custom made, model Mustang
This is a VERY rare find !
It is a factory “ORDER MADE” model from the mid 90’s
An obvious tribute to Kurt Cobain’s (Nirvana) “Skystang”
Everything is straight from the factory, with no post production modifications*
(It is complete with the correct neck pocket stampings)
“Order Made” guitars have been custom made to a stores/customers specification
(direct from the Fender Japan factory)
Usually, they will have higher end parts, unique colour finishing’s, custom parts etc
More often than not, these “Order Made” guitars are one of a kind
This one is no exception!
Finished in a HIGHLY sought after Sonic Blue (SBL)
It has the classic polly yellowing of the era, giving the finish a more surf green appearance
It has been fitted with a Three ply Pearl pickguard
(yes….the red tortoiseshell would have looked exactly like Kurt’s)
It has been factory routed for a humbucker in the bridge position
Fitted with a Fender JPN Dragster humbucker
The bridge has been factory modified for a Gotoh 103B, Nashville Tune-o-matic
7.25” board, vintage frets
24” scale
Shallow “C” profile, 39mm nut neck width
Maple one piece neck
Rosewood fretboard
Kluson style vintage sealed tuners
“F” scroll neck plate
Excellent playability, the action is low, and the tone is HUGE
Do not miss out of this one, as something this special rarely comes along
Includes a Hard Case
ITEM CONDITION
All machinery, electrical, and pickups are without issue. Some surface marks, some impressions/dimples/dents, some paint chips and kicks, some line cracks in the colour paint finish, light aging and tarnish to hardware - as pictured.
* The tremolo arm is non original, it is a Stratocaster arm, that does the job and is fully functional. The guitar is pictured with the original factory 2 x white slide switches. Both switches were functioning very poorly (the neck did not work at all), so post photos it has been fitted with 2 x brand new matching Switchcraft USA on/off/on slide switches. They have black tips, and match the rest of the guitar’s plastics far better than the white ones (that looked out of place)
