One ply white pickguard
Alder body wood
It is also factory fitted with Fender ST Vintage, USA Alnico pickups
These are staggered pole, cloth wired, Alnico single coils
High clarity, with a nice warmth
Great mid range, and very glassy in the bridge position
They have an excellent all round flexibility in tone
The other feature that makes the ’54 model special in the neck
It has a very subtle soft V profile
This gives an incredibly comfortable feel for the big chord/rhythmic players
