Product Description
1987, Made In Japan, “F” serial
It is neck dated to 24th July 1987
FujiGen production era
As it is, these earliest 80’s models are becoming hard to find, and highly sought after
This Stratocaster is the next level in rarity
It is a factory “ORDER MADE” model
(complete with the correct neck pocket stampings)
“Order Made” guitars have been custom made to a stores/customers specification
(direct from the Fender Japan factory)
Usually, they will have higher end parts, unique colour finishing’s, custom parts etc
(essentially Fender JPN Custom Shop guitars of the time)
More often than not, these “Order Made” guitars are one of a kind
This one is no exception!
It is finished in a striking “Charcoal Burst colour” (CCB factory code)
Over a light weight, American Basswood body (only 3.45kg)
It is an absolutely stunning colour up close in person
This CCB colour, used on a Stratocaster, is almost unheard of
As it was generally reserved for Telecaster and Jazz Basses
(for whatever reason?)
Every CCB finish is slightly different
This is due to the flame/scorching creating the “charcoal” effect, and following the wood grain
So you will never see two CCB finishes exactly the same
The second feature is something I have only ever seen in person once before
(from 1000’s of Fender JPN guitars)
The neck if finished in the standard “honey gloss” clear coat
But the fretboard is a raw oiled finish, similar to an Ernie Ball guitar
This is an exceptional feature, making the board silky fast to play
With no “sticky” feeling on the fingertips with high bends and quick lead movements
The frets are original, and in great shape, with plenty of life left
The rest is usual spec’s for a ’57 model…
Fitted with a one ply white pickguard
7.25” board, vintage sized frets
Maple one piece neck, fretboard
Standard 25 ½” scale
50’s era features…
-Fender stamped bridge saddles
-High mass tremolo black
-Spaghetti headstock logo
-Skunk stripe neck
-One ply guards
Original Fender JPN Alnico single coil pickups
They are bright but warm, with a nice mid range output, without being too twangy
Excellent flexibility in tone
Overall, this is THE perfect example of a FujiGen built, Order Made guitar
Nearing it’s 40th birthday, this is the perfect (upcoming) birth year guitar
Highly collectible, and very likely one of a kind
Includes the Original (and higher end) 1980’s Brown Fender Gig Case
(these themselves are becoming very sought after for JV, A, E, and F serial collectors)
