Product Description
1982, Made In Japan serial
Broad Bass VII model
It is the P/J pickup variation, up from the VI model
These were first seen in the 1982 Yamaha catalogue as a “NEW” model
Making this one a first year of production
These models have exception finishing and build quality
Alder body
The finish is a Metallic Red, with just a hint of orange
It is not the standard “MR” solid colour red you normally find from this series
Very hard to capture in photos, and they do not do it justice
It looks amazing in person, and a colour I have never seen before on this model
Maple C profile neck, dot inlays
Rosewood fretboard
Full 34” scale
Four a side, open gear tuners
Four saddle, radius adjustable and intonatable, high mass bridge
Alnico split single coil neck pickup
Alnico single coil bridge pickup
Master volume, master tone, 3 way switch pickup controls
Incredibly versatile in tones and sounds
Gritty and growling low end, with a punchy output
At 44 years vintage this is an incredible find, in both rarity, and playability
Overall, the condition is excellent
The neck feels perfect under profile, action is low and fast, and the sound is huge
It includes the original Yamaha moulded hard case
Along with the original paper work and truss wrench
