VERY early, 4 digit, serial number – 33xx
This is an incredibly RARE to find, 1st year of production, 1966 model
Officially, the SA series begins in 1967, with serial number range 3952-7433
However there are numerous examples of 1966 serial numbers in this series
Essentially this is the first run, pre mass production, with the serial number 33xx
Making this guitar an incredibly valuable find, and an outstanding vintage instrument
Right on the cusp of celebrating it’s 60th Birthday !
The SA30T is a Hollow, cream double-bound body
Sycamore Maple top, back and sides
Hard to find, Transparent “Alga” Green finish
22 fret, Rosewood fret board
Cream neck binding
Super flat and fast 20” board radius
42mm nut neck width, “Zero” Fret
24 ¾” scale length (Standard Gibson scale)
Traditional open gear Yamaha tuners
3 position toggle switch with separate pickup balancer pot
Baffled F-holes
Roller Bridge with original Tremolo/Vibrato
Overall, the condition is excellent for an instrument of this age
Although it shows it’s player wear and age, it plays beautifully, and sounds amazing
This is truly a vintage find that the collector (and player) should not miss
ITEM CONDITION
All machinery, electrical, and pickups are without issue. Surface marks/scuffing/scratches, some impressions/dings/dimples/dents/chips, some tarnish/spotting/aging to machinery, some wear through to creen colour finish - as pictured.
