Product Description
2002-04, Made In Japan, “Q” serial
This is a Hybrid built and customised bass
Built in the similar style, and era, as the Mark Hoppus (Blink 182) Artist Series Signature Bass
(the official MH bass was released in 2002)
What has been put together is very close to the same specs as the official bass
However, I do prefer how they flipped around the J body, and P neck combination
Normally I am not a fan of switching necks and bodies, but on this bass it is perfect
The combination of having a Jazz Bass neck on a Precision Bass body is amazing
The neck is fast to play and comfortable
(it is a Fender Made in Japan JB45 model Jazz Bass)
The overall sound is huge, massive driving tone, with all the grit and low end you would expect from a P Bass
This is courtesy of the Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pound Precision Bass Pickup
I have added to this bass, by installing my custom wired Precision Bass harness
(which I am no longer building/selling at this time)
It is made to USA spec and includes:
-Switchcraft USA - 1/4" Mono Input Jack
-Sprague USA .047 mfd Orange Drop Tone Capacitor
-CTS USA 250k Precision Volume and Tone Pot - Split Shaft
-Treble Bleed Circuit
-Vintage Cloth Wire
A larger high mass bridge has beed added
(it looks to be possibly a GOTOH JPN?)
With a custom cut bone nut
And finally, a three ply pearloid pickguard has been fitted
The finish is an amazing Sea Foam Green
Alder body
The neck has a modern 9.5” board
Vintage sized 20 frets
39mm nut width, Jazz Bass neck
Standard 34” scale
Maple neck, C profile
Rosewood fretboard, with a nice dark graining
The official Mark Hoppus Artist Series Signature Basses are currently commanding upwards of $2k
And that is if you an even find one
This is an incredible alternative, with a tonne of features, and amazing playability
Includes the Original Fender gig case/bag
