SA450 CUSTOM catalogue model
Very, very few of the SA450 models from 1973 ever become available
They are becoming increasingly rare to get a hold of as the years roll on
Consistently praised for their super lightweight, and smaller sized body
The SA450 is the perfect sized instrument for regular stage use
With near identical features and specs to a Gibson “339”
But this Greco model/design pre-dates the “real” one by decades !!!
Making them incredibly sought after, and way ahead of their time
This guitar is also a little more unique, in that it has an engraved truss rod
The name initials “K.O” are factory engraved
This was a feature you could pay extra for at the time of ordering the guitar
Honey Sunburst style finish
Semi hollow “F hole” body
It has a stunning book matched, flame grained front and rear
Front and rear body binding, and neck binding
Maple neck, open book headstock
Rosewood fretboard, with a very dark grain (almost like Ebony)
Block inlays, medium frets
24 ¾” scale, 12” radius
Thin, 60’s style, neck profile
Original Greco/Maxon humbuckers
Original sealed “Star” tuners
Overall, it is in outstanding condition
It is not quite mint condition, but truly this is as close as you may ever find
Especially for an instrument that is 53 years vintage
A great example of a closet queen, all original , with no modifications
Truly it is a special find, that will satisfy any collector or player alike
